Pellet Quality

There are various types of pellets on the market, but unfortunately as in all things, there are better products and poorer ones. Europa Pallets sells only selected pellets with safety certificates and a high-quality product guarantee.

The pellets we sell are produced only from virgin wood, wood-chipped and pulverised into a biomass, with no additives, dyes or caustic products. Only a controlled product throughout its entire supply chain can be considered safe and boast the ENplus certificate.

Importance of ENplus certification

The ENplus system was designed by the German pellet institute (Deutsches Pelletinsttut GmbH DEP) as a reference rule for pellet certification providing the highest quality guarantee, for the final consumption by pellet stoves and pellet boilers. These analyses are carried out with strict German protocol rules.

The analyses carried out as analytical tests on the pellets before, during and after the different processing phases, guarantee the final product on an objective basis. Pellet certification is carried out against fraudulent production or the introduction of any non-natural materials in the product’s processing.

Pellet manufacturers and retailers make use of these analyses and certifications issued to guarantee high-quality pellets. Analysing and certifying pellets is a guarantee for the final consumer, also in terms of environmental health.

Depending on the type of wood and the origin, the pellets are classified as EN Plus A1, EN Plus A2 and EN Plus B.

Europa Pallets resells only ENplus A1 certified pellets
All pellets produced using not chemically treated tree trunks, or from waste and production residues from wood factories, provided that the latter has not been treated with products such as solvents or fats are certified with this code. The A1 certification indicates a high-quality pellet with a residual ash content of up to 0.7%.
